Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Seyyed Naba al-Hammami, an envoy of the Alawite Holy Shrine, made the remarks on the sidelines of the 11th Specialized Exhibition of Seminary Books and Islamic Teachings in an interview with the Hawzah News Agency.
'A Distinguished Exhibition'
Describing the exhibition as "distinguished and valuable," al-Hammami said it offered greater diversity of works and books compared to previous years.
He said such exhibitions, held alongside academic occasions, can lay the groundwork for stronger connections between seminaries and academic centers and expand cooperation in scientific, cultural, and research fields.
Broader International Participation
Al-Hammami noted that one key opportunity created by such events is enabling scientific and cultural partnerships between seminaries inside Iran and academic centers abroad.
"Iraqi seminaries, in particular, can take a more active role in such programs, and ties between Iranian and Iraqi seminaries can be strengthened further across various scientific, cultural, and research fields," he said.
He stressed that specialized book fairs can serve as more than just venues for displaying academic works — they can become platforms for interaction between academic institutions.
Call for Greater Holy Shrine Role
Al-Hammami proposed that next year's exhibition, along with other academic events, see broader participation from the holy shrines — especially the Alawite and Husseini shrines — so their capacities can be used for joint scientific and cultural programs.
He said the presence of the holy shrines in such events can help strengthen ties between seminary and academic institutions and open new opportunities for cooperation in research, culture, and the dissemination of Islamic teachings.
Books as a Bridge Between Seminaries
Highlighting the importance of books and academic activity in spreading religious knowledge, al-Hammami said such exhibitions give researchers, seminary students, professors, and enthusiasts greater exposure to scholarly works and Islamic teachings.
He said expanding these connections — particularly between Iranian and Iraqi seminaries — can pave the way for joint scientific and cultural programs and mutual use of capacities in research and publishing works related to Islamic teachings and the doctrine of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT).
Al-Hammami emphasized the need to sustain such events, describing them as opportunities to showcase the scientific and cultural capacities of seminaries and to create space for dialogue and cooperation among academic centers in Islamic countries.
In closing, he said such exhibitions and academic-cultural activities can play an important role in promoting Islamic culture and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and contribute to advancing Islamic goals in scientific and cultural arenas.
