Hawzah News Agency- Speaking in his Friday sermon at the Baqiyatullah Mosque in Karachi, Maisami urged Muslims to place the preservation of life, wealth, and security above disputes.
Vigilance in the information age
Referring to political and social developments around the world, he called for a balanced, research-based approach to news and current events, warning that believers should not become happy or upset solely based on social media content. He stressed the need for investigation, precision, and patience, noting that there is often a significant gap between what circulates online and the reality on the ground.
Realistic view of regional developments
Addressing developments in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, the Friday prayer leader noted that Muslims are present on both sides of the conflict and urged Pakistani officials to make regional decisions with precision, foresight, and consideration for the interests of the Islamic Ummah.
He stressed the need for unity among Islamic countries and an end to internal tensions and conflicts, saying the Ummah must prioritize the protection of Muslim lives, property, and security over being caught up in disputes.
Iran-US tensions and global analysis
Referring to current tensions between Iran and the United States, Maisami said world developments cannot be analyzed solely through superficial news and scattered reports, but must be examined within a broader political, economic, and global power-interest framework.
He noted that Iran's resistance and the rapidly unfolding developments in the region have further exposed the interests of major powers and ongoing regional conflicts, underscoring the need for precise and comprehensive analysis.
Iran's scientific progress
The Friday prayer leader also highlighted Iran's scientific and technical advances, praising the scientific potential of women and the younger generation. He said the expansion of education and the strengthening of scientific capabilities in Iranian society have created new capacities and paved the way for progress in various fields.
Divine blessings and gratitude
In another part of his sermon, Maisami discussed divine blessings, saying they are so abundant that humans cannot count them. He noted that the Quran draws attention to this reality—that even if one tried to enumerate God's blessings, they would be unable to do so, because God has provided countless blessings without humans even asking for them.
Despite these blessings, he said, humans sometimes fall into ingratitude, and therefore mindfulness of divine blessings and gratitude toward God must be part of a believer's life.
Repentance always open
Citing Quranic verses on sin and repentance, he said God has forbidden even those who have wronged themselves through sin from despairing of His mercy, because God is All-Forgiving and Most Merciful and has left the path of return and repentance open.
He noted that when a person commits a sin, they first harm themselves, their family, and their surroundings. The Quran states that whoever commits a sin has acted to their own loss, while God is All-Knowing and All-Wise.
Life's trials as a measure of faith
Referring to divine tests and citing verses from Surah al-Baqarah, he said fear, hunger, loss of wealth and life, and loss of some of life's fruits are among the trials humans may face—but the Quran promises glad tidings and divine reward for the patient.
Citing Surah al-Ankabut, he added that merely claiming faith does not exempt a person from divine tests. Just as tests and evaluations are necessary for undertaking various responsibilities in life, a person's faith is measured in the field of action and through hardships. A believer must remain steadfast in the face of difficulties and not deviate from the path of faith, relying on patience and trust in God.
Purpose of creation
Citing a Quranic verse on the creation of death and life, Maisami said God created death and life to test humans and determine who among them is best in deeds. A believer must understand blessings, sins, and life's trials within the framework of their relationship with God, and in every circumstance, pay attention to correcting behavior and strengthening spiritual connection with the Lord.
Love of Ahl al-Bayt
In conclusion, the Karachi Friday prayer leader described love of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) as one of God's greatest blessings, saying a person must continue their path of spiritual growth and elevation by drawing on divine love and knowledge of the Ahl al-Bayt.
He noted that avoiding sin, repentance, seeking forgiveness, and patience lead a person toward spirituality and spiritual perfection, and a believer must apply these teachings in their individual and social life.
