Hawzah News Agency – Ayatollah Hafiz Syed Riaz Hussain Najafi, president of Wifaq al-Madaris al-Shia Pakistan, has underscored the decisive role of women in building Islamic society, declaring that Muslim women equipped with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) can play a transformative role in the religious and moral upbringing of the next generation.
Speaking at a grand ceremony marking the birth anniversaries of the Prophet Muhammad and Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon them), hosted by Zahra College in Karachi, Ayatollah Najafi emphasized the foundational role of women in shaping a conscious, committed, and values-oriented society.
"Women have a fundamental and decisive role in building and nurturing Islamic society," Ayatollah Najafi said. "By drawing on the example of the Holy Prophet and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt, they can play an effective role in the religious, moral, and cultural upbringing of the next generation."
Addressing the students and women in attendance, the senior cleric urged them to strengthen their religious knowledge, moral virtues, and sense of social responsibility, stressing the necessity of their informed and constructive presence across various spheres of society.
"A society that benefits from the educational and constructive role of women can raise a generation that is aware, committed, and faithful to religious values," he stated. "Therefore, attention to the education and training of women, and providing the grounds for their scientific and spiritual growth, is among the essential requirements of Islamic society."
The ceremony concluded with awards presented to students and women who demonstrated outstanding performance in scientific, educational, and cultural fields.
