Hawzah News Agency- As rapid developments sweep across the region, Islamic unity is no longer a ceremonial slogan raised during religious occasions. It now faces a genuine test against a project seeking to redesign the region on the basis of partition and internal conflict. With the expansion of US-Israeli targeting, the need to fortify societies against instruments of division—chief among them sectarian and ethnic strife—has never been more urgent.
Since the founding of Islamic Unity Week by Imam Khomeini, the objective has been to transform Muslim commonalities into a practical force against the enemies of the Ummah.
Unity Week: Beyond a Mere Occasion
Sheikh Jabri maintains that when Imam Khomeini established Islamic Unity Week, he recognized the Ummah's need to protect itself from discord and sedition, utilizing the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birth to create a space for Muslim convergence.
The concept did not emerge in isolation from the Islamic framework emphasizing "holding fast to the rope of God" and unity. Rather, it sought to translate this principle into a practical occasion where Islamic schools of thought could meet around their shared foundations.
This initiative—launched by Imam Khomeini and later consolidated under Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei—has taken on greater significance today than at any previous stage, given the nature of the project confronting the region.
A Project That Exempts No One
The danger of the current phase, Sheikh Jabri argues, is that the enemy no longer conceals its ambitions. It now declares them openly through published maps and announced plans targeting the entire region.
These projects do not single out one specific country or nation at the expense of another. They extend across the region's entire geography—from the Persian Gulf to Egypt, Turkey, and beyond.
The Ummah must understand that the enemy will not spare any party for the benefit of another. If the partition project succeeds in one location, it will not stop there.
"Everyone must recognize that the circle of targeting is one," Sheikh Jabri said. "Betting that a particular group or nation will be exempt from this hostile project is a losing wager."
Partition: A Prerequisite for the Zionist Project
The realization of the so-called "Greater Israel" project is impossible without dismantling the region and reducing it to warring, mutually hostile factions. The instruments of partition are multiple—ethnic, sectarian, racial, or tied to nationalities and local identities.
The occupiers, he warned, seek to deploy these instruments at will, weakening societies and preoccupying them with internal conflicts rather than confronting the primary project targeting the region.
Islamic unity, therefore, is not a political courtesy. It is the principal line of defense against a project built on tearing the region apart from within.
Sedition: An Ever-Present and Ever-Evolving Weapon
Sheikh Jabri noted that efforts to incite discord do not take a single form but shift according to the nature of each society. He pointed to attempts to exploit Arab-Kurdish relations, Arab-Turkish tensions, and internal divisions within individual societies, alongside the revival of sectarian strife at every opportunity.
The objective remains constant: to strike at the concept of a "single Ummah" and transform natural diversity within societies into permanent conflict.
Muslims bear a grave responsibility in countering these efforts. Every statement or position that deepens divisions can directly or indirectly serve the project targeting the region.
What Is Required Is Defeat, Not Delay
Resistance forces have succeeded in disrupting and delaying enemy projects across multiple phases. But the current stage demands a transition to another level of confrontation.
What is now required is no longer merely postponing the American-Israeli project—it is working toward its "complete nullification and defeat." Reaching this stage demands genuine awareness of the nature of the battle and recognition that the enemy's military, political, and economic schemes are inseparable from efforts to plant seeds of division within societies.
The Ummah must reconsider its approach to these projects, moving beyond mere reactions to build awareness capable of confronting and defeating the project and its instruments.
Al-Aqsa Storm: A Turning Point
Sheikh Jabri identified Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, 2023, as a decisive milestone that altered many equations.
The world after Al-Aqsa Storm is not the same as before—whether at the level of Islamic movements, the spiritual atmosphere among global populations, or perceptions of Israeli occupation. The crimes committed by the occupiers in Gaza laid bare their true face before world public opinion. Daily scenes of massacre, destruction, and aggression contributed to a palpable shift in international public opinion and exposed the nature of American support for the occupiers.
Gaza Reunited the Arenas of Resistance
One of the most prominent manifestations of unity in recent years has been the stance of resistance forces alongside Gaza.
Sheikh Jabri pointed to multiple forces—including the Islamic Republic of Iran, the resistance in Lebanon, and the broader Axis of Resistance—emphasizing that these forces did not treat the war on Gaza as a separate Palestinian issue. They engaged in support and solidarity.
This convergence across multiple arenas confirms that the Palestinian cause remains capable of uniting the Ummah's various segments, and that the resistance has succeeded in making it an axis transcending borders, geography, and affiliations.
The battle is not over, and the coming phase may bring even greater developments—making unity of position and readiness all the more essential.
Iran: Prepared for a Prolonged Confrontation
Reflecting on the Islamic Republic of Iran's experience, Sheikh Jabri emphasized that what emerged during the recent confrontation proves that preparations for war contingencies began years ago.
The late Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei worked to build a complete system of readiness encompassing mobilization, economic, industrial, and military dimensions. This preparation enabled the Islamic Republic to withstand war. What appeared during the confrontation was not the product of momentary decisions but the fruit of a long path of preparation.
Iran's support for Palestinian groups has never been limited to the political dimension—it has included training, logistical support, and other areas related to confrontation.
Withstanding the War of Attrition
The steadfastness of the Islamic Republic, combined with the unity of resistance forces, places the United States before a prolonged war of attrition.
Sheikh Jabri described the current phase as a war of wills, noting that talk of American retreat or economic exhaustion has now entered public discourse. Each side is testing the other's capacity to endure.
He cautioned against treating this phase as one of final resolution, urging instead a posture of vigilance and anticipation, particularly given the continued possibility of new developments.
The Birth Pangs of a New Dawn
Sheikh Jabri characterized the current phase as "the birth pangs of a new dawn for the Ummah," adding that the path toward this transformation will not necessarily be easy or free of crisis.
He warned of the possibility of further crises and complications while maintaining that this phase presents new opportunities for the Ummah—provided it preserves its unity and approaches developments with awareness and responsibility.
The greater the Ummah's capacity to transcend internal differences and transform diversity from a point of conflict into a source of strength, the closer victory becomes.
Unity: The Precondition for Confrontation
Sheikh Jabri stressed that Islamic Unity Week must evolve from an annual occasion into a permanent culture embedded in the Ummah's consciousness. The American-Israeli project does not confront one sect without another or one nation without another—it targets the region with all its diverse segments. Squandering the opportunity for unity amounts to offering the enemy a free service.
What is required today is a transition from merely disrupting the projects of the occupiers and the United States to their downfall and defeat. This demands a cohesive Ummah that knows its priorities and understands that its real battle is not with its internal differences.
As the region enters a new phase of conflict, Sheikh Jabri concluded that the unity of Muslims and resistance forces can form the essential foundation for greater transformations. Commitment to unity preserves the Ummah's capacity to stand firm and grants it the opportunity to move from "delaying enemy projects" to "defeating and toppling them."
