Hamas Representative: Assassination of Leaders Will Not Deflect Palestinian Resistance

Khaled al-Qaddoumi, the representative of the Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine (Hamas) in Tehran, emphasized on Monday in a meeting titled “Review of the Latest Developments in Palestine” that the assassination of Hamas leaders has not been able to divert this movement from its path and that the structure of this movement remains stable and solid in the difficult conditions of war.

Hawzah News Agency- Al-Qaddoumi appreciated the role of resistance-oriented media, especially Iranian media, in explaining the realities of the Palestinian scene and informing about the developments in this region. He also referred to the widespread movements and gatherings of people in different parts of the world in support of Palestine, and considered these measures important and effective.

In another part of his speech about the election of Khalil al-Hayyah as the head of the political bureau of the movement, quoted by Fars, the Hamas representative said: “This election shows the institutionalization of the Hamas structure and its continued activity in the difficult conditions of war and Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.”

He stated that the Zionist regime's idea that it could divert the movement from its path by assassinating Hamas leaders "has proven to be wrong."

It is worth noting that Khalil al-Hayyah was elected as the head of Hamas' political bureau on July 20, 2026 (July 19), replacing Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran in July 2024. Yahya Sinwar, another Hamas leader, was also assassinated in Gaza in October 2024. Despite these assassinations, Hamas has shown that it has been able to maintain its structure and continue its activities.
