"Religion Will Not Be Erased": Sheikh Zakzaky Says Enemy Schemes Are Backfiring

Hawzah News Agency- Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, has stressed the importance of thought, recognizing the truth, and safeguarding religious convictions on the path of resistance. He made the remarks at the closing ceremony of a three-day training program for women of the movement in Abuja.

The program, attended by a gathering of women from the Islamic Movement, wrapped up on Sunday, August 9, at Sheikh Zakzaky's residence in Abuja.

In his address, Sheikh Zakzaky pointed to the central role of thought and reflection in human life. "Thought and reflection are among the most critical matters for the human being," he said. "Despite the enemy's efforts to spread deviant ideas through various channels and sow doubt among the people, the truth can be recognized through the standard of reason and intellect."

Touching on the intellectual foundations of the Islamic Movement since its inception, he stated, "Our thought rests on the permanence of religion. Religion must govern the lives of the people."

He added that enemies have always sought to erase the symbols and outward manifestations of religion in order to push it aside, but these attempts have never succeeded—nor will they ever bring about an end to religion.

Sheikh Zakzaky further addressed the policies of the United States and its allies, noting that current developments are laying bare their true nature and objectives more than ever before.

"Today, many people have come to realize the falsehood of efforts to brand religion as a source of terrorism," he said. "Even non-Muslims are now closer to the truth—that certain terrorist groups are creations of America." He pointed out that the Americans themselves have acknowledged this fact.

In his closing remarks, Sheikh Zakzaky called on the women of the Islamic Movement to remain patient, steadfast, and firm in their thoughts and religious beliefs. "Where there is no trial," he said, "there is no resistance."

The three-day training program was organized to raise awareness and strengthen the intellectual and religious foundations of women within the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
