Arbaeen Is Living Proof That Ashura Will Never Die: Kashmir's Top Shia Scholar

The Arbaeen pilgrimage stands as shining testimony to the eternal vitality of the Ashura uprising, a movement that continues to inspire free nations across the globe despite centuries of efforts by oppressors to extinguish its flame, the head of the Shia Religious Association of Jammu and Kashmir has declared.

Hawzah News Agency- Addressing a large mourning gathering in Badgam, Kashmir, Hojatoleslam Seyyed Hassan Mousavi said the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) immortalized the pure truth of Islam and the exalted values of justice, freedom, human dignity, and the struggle against tyranny for all of history.

"Arbaeen is the eternal manifestation of faith, loyalty, and the renewal of allegiance to the universal ideals of Imam Hussein," he stated. "The presence of millions of pilgrims from every corner of the world in holy Karbala is clear proof of the dynamism and permanence of the Ashura movement."

Love for Ahl al-Bayt Must Be Reflected in Deeds

Citing the Quranic Verse of Affection (Mawaddah), the senior scholar described love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) as a fundamental pillar of faith, but stressed that this devotion reaches its perfection only when manifested in conduct and character.

"Believers must demonstrate their love and devotion to the household of infallibility and purity through piety, worship, justice, good character, trustworthiness, and adherence to Islamic teachings," he said.

Hojatoleslam Mousavi identified adherence to the Holy Quran, following the luminous path of the Prophet, acting upon the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt, and commitment to the principle of Wilayat and Imamate as the sole safeguards against misguidance, corruption, division, and deviation. "Any society that distances itself from these principles will be exposed to intellectual, moral, and social harm," he warned.

Karbala: The Eternal Symbol of Justice and Resistance

The cleric described the tragedy of Karbala as the everlasting symbol of truth-seeking, justice, dignity, and resistance against oppression. He urged believers not to confine their bond with the Hussaini culture to mourning ceremonies alone, but to manifest this spiritual connection in daily life through acts of charity, service to the people, and adherence to Islamic ethics.

The message of Karbala, he concluded, remains an endless wellspring for spiritual awakening, the realization of social justice, the strengthening of Islamic unity, and steadfastness on the path of truth—calling on Muslims to draw inspiration from Ashura as they march forward on the road of dignity, solidarity, and resistance.
