Gaza Ceasefire Deal: Hamas Demands Full Withdrawal, Reconstruction, and International Oversight

A member of Hamas' political bureau has stated that the movement has agreed to a comprehensive ceasefire deal for the Gaza Strip—one that includes an Israeli withdrawal, the reconstruction of Gaza, the deployment of an international force, and the handover of administrative affairs to a Palestinian national committee.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking to Turkey's Anadolu Agency, Hamas political bureau member Ghazi Hamad confirmed the movement's agreement to a comprehensive ceasefire package for the Gaza Strip.

"The agreement includes the full withdrawal of the Zionist regime from the Gaza Strip, the reconstruction of the territory, the deployment of an international force, and the transfer of governance to a Palestinian national committee," Hamad said.

Hamad noted that at the current stage, only general principles of the agreement have been settled, adding that a new round of negotiations will be held to determine implementation mechanisms and the timeline for carrying out the deal.

"The comprehensive package covers the Israeli withdrawal, Gaza reconstruction, the stationing of an international force, and the commencement of the Palestinian national committee's work," he stressed. "If Israel fails to fulfill its commitments under the Gaza agreement, Hamas will not consider itself bound by its obligations either."

The Hamas official made clear that the movement will not enter the next phase until the first stage of the agreement is fully implemented.

Addressing the issue of weaponry, Hamad stated, "Implementation of any agreement regarding arms is contingent upon Israel's full execution of the first phase of the ceasefire, the regime's withdrawal from Gaza, the Palestinian national committee assuming its functions, the deployment of the international force, and the dismantling of illegal armed groups."

He added that the agreement also specifies the status of heavy weapons, which will be kept under the responsibility of the Palestinian national committee once Israel fulfills all its commitments.

Hamad concluded by noting that, under the agreement, an international committee will be formed to continuously monitor the implementation process.
