Sheikh Zakzaky Emerges from Years of Siege to Rekindle the Bonds of Faith and Family in Zaria

Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, has continued his community visits across the city of Zaria, meeting with relatives, prominent religious figures, and longtime companions. During the visits, he extended his condolences to the family of the late Mallam Qassim, the Imam of Zaria, and prayed for divine mercy and forgiveness for the deceased and all departed believers.

Hawzah News Agency- This marks the first time Sheikh Zakzaky has conducted such community visits in Zaria since the 2015 military assault on the Islamic Movement ordered by the government of General Muhammadu Buhari. The visits took place on Sunday, July 26.

Paying Tribute to the Late Imam of Zaria

The first destination was the residence of the late Mallam Qassim, the Imam of Zaria, located in the Unguwar Juma area. Sheikh Zakzaky expressed his sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed to God Almighty to grant the deceased mercy, forgiveness, and an exalted station in Paradise. He also prayed for divine mercy and forgiveness for all believing men and women who have departed from this mortal world.

Honoring a Flagbearer of the Sokoto Revolution

The leader of the Islamic Movement then traveled to the Kwarbai area, where he visited the grave of the late Mallam Musa, the flagbearer of Sheikh Uthman Dan Fodio's revolution in the Zazzau region. Sheikh Zakzaky paid tribute to his invaluable services on the path of propagating the faith.

Strengthening Community Bonds

The visits continued at the homes of Madaki Saeed and Gogo Hari in the Magajia district, followed by a stop at the residence of Baba Abdulqadir in the Kwarbai 2 area, where Sheikh Zakzaky met and spoke with members of these families.

He also visited the home of his late mother, Hajiya Hari Jamo, in the Joshi district of Zaria. The Sheikh honored her memory and praised her services as well as her moral and social virtues.

Call for Unity and Reverence for the Righteous

The visits were conducted in an atmosphere of warmth, spirituality, and deep affection. Throughout these gatherings, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky emphasized the importance of strengthening kinship ties, consolidating unity and social solidarity, honoring families, showing reverence to elders, and keeping alive the memory of religious scholars and the righteous servants of God who dedicated their lives to the service of Islam and the community.
