Blood of Martyrs Shattered US-Zionist Hegemony, Says Top Iraqi Sunni Cleric

Baghdad, Iraq – The head of Iraq's Sunni Scholars Association has declared that the blood of martyrs has dismantled the aura of American and Zionist invincibility, igniting an unprecedented wave of Islamic and human awakening across the globe.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the international conference "Child Martyrs, the Defeat of American Hegemony, and the Awakening of the Islamic Ummah," broadcast by Al-Kawthar TV, Sheikh Khaled al-Mulla stated that the gathering itself was a testament to the crumbling of Zionist dominance, shattered by the hands of resistance fighters and the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Quranic Warning Against Alliance with the Enemy
Citing the Quranic verse, "O you who believe, do not take the Jews and Christians as allies...", Sheikh al-Mulla warned against aligning with forces arrayed against the Islamic Ummah. He noted that arrogant powers and the Zionist regime have formed a united front to advance their shared interests against the nations of the region.

The Sunni leader charged that the United States has consistently sought to impose its hegemony not only politically and economically but also culturally and religiously, pursuing projects designed to reshape Islam to fit its own interests.

Shared Responsibility for Bloodshed
Sheikh al-Mulla held all those who support or justify the aggression and crimes of the United States and Israel directly complicit in the blood of martyrs fallen in Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and other lands of resistance. He cited the killing of Iranian commanders, civilians, and the tragic bombing of the Minab school—where scores of children and students were martyred—as crimes that, while plunging the Ummah into grief, exposed the enemy's blindness to a fundamental truth.

"The enemy forgot that the blood of martyrs itself becomes the catalyst for the awakening and uprising of nations," he declared.

Military Myth Destroyed
Al-Mulla asserted that the recent confrontation broke America's military prestige in the region. "Equipment, warships, missiles, and American military might failed to crush the will of the resisting nations," he said, noting that this failure marks a historic shift in the balance of power.

Global Solidarity Beyond the Islamic World
The cleric highlighted that solidarity with the Iranian people transcended borders and faiths, with expressions of sympathy emerging not only from Islamic countries but also from Europe, the United States, Australia, and Canada.

Inside Iraq, he pointed to the firm positions of religious authorities—foremost among them Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani—alongside statements from Sunni scholars, as evidence of unified Islamic support. Grassroots aid convoys, he said, demonstrated that standing with the victimized nation has become a paramount Islamic duty.

Two Historic Outcomes
Sheikh al-Mulla concluded by identifying two decisive outcomes of these events: first, the shattering of American and Zionist hegemony in the face of popular resistance; and second, the emergence of a global wave of Islamic and human awakening, fueled by the blood of martyrs—especially children and civilian victims of war.

He closed with a salute to the steadfastness of the Iranian people and the support of free nations from Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, and beyond, expressing confidence in the ultimate triumph over oppression, aggression, and global arrogance.
