Hawzah News Agency- Born in Afghanistan in 1930, Ayatollah Fayyadh traveled to Najaf as a youth to pursue Islamic studies. The holy city, long a center of Islamic learning, witnessed his scholarly rise as he became one of the principal pillars of the seminary.
A distinguished student of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Abolqasem al-Khoei, Ayatollah Fayyadh spent decades as a leading seminary professor and jurist, providing religious guidance to millions of Muslims worldwide.
His office confirmed the loss in a statement, saying, "It is with deep sorrow and grief that we received the news of the passing of Grand Ayatollah Fayyadh. The late scholar spent his entire blessed life in service to Islam, teaching religious sciences, training students, and promoting the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and the rulings of Sharia."
Ayatollah Fayyadh had been hospitalized several days prior due to a physical ailment and was under intensive care before passing away early Thursday morning.
