Mumbai Thinkers Gather to Honor Legacy of Late Imam Khomeini

A grand commemoration ceremony titled "In Memory of the Late Imam (RA)" was held in Mumbai, India, drawing a broad gathering of scholars, intellectuals, youth, women, and representatives of various social and religious organizations.

Hawzah News Agency- the ceremony took place in Mumbai with the stated aim of expounding upon and introducing the multifaceted personality and thought of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Organizers noted that the program focused on the blessed life and conduct of the late Imam, his justice-centered worldview, his message of resistance against oppression, arrogance, and hegemony, as well as his enduring emphasis on human unity and convergence within the Islamic Ummah.

Addressing the gathering, speakers underscored the expansive reach of Imam Khomeini's ideas across the Muslim world and beyond, reaffirming that his teachings continue to serve as a beacon for the oppressed, the truth-seeking, and the justice-demanding peoples of the world.

Hojatoleslam Sayyed Hassanin Rizvi, an Indian cleric, took to the podium to elaborate on the character, struggles, and revolutionary trajectory of the late Imam. He stressed that Imam Khomeini elevated the battle against tyranny and global arrogance from a limited campaign to a worldwide movement — a message that remains a wellspring of hope, dignity, and courage for the righteous and freedom-loving across the globe.

In one of the standout moments of the event, a group of children and adolescents performed the popular anthem "Salam Farmandeh" (Hello Commander) in Persian, energizing the atmosphere and drawing enthusiastic applause from attendees.

On the sidelines of the main program, several cultural activities were organized, including a photographic exhibition chronicling the life and services of Imam Khomeini, as well as a children's painting competition aimed at acquainting the younger generation with his enduring vision.

A dedicated and well-equipped section was provided for female attendees, and children who participated in the cultural segments were honored with gifts and prizes.

Concluding the ceremony, participants called for the strengthening of Islamic brotherhood, Ummah unity, and peaceful social coexistence, urging that such programs be continued to broaden religious and social awareness and to reinforce convergence among Muslims.

Organizers, while expressing gratitude to the scholars, speakers, volunteers, media personnel, and all participants, announced their firm resolve to stage further scientific, cultural, and educational programs in the future, all geared toward propagating the ideas and teachings of Imam Khomeini.
