Hawzah News Agency- Hamzah ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Alawi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from Ya’qub ibn Yazid, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from al-Husayn ibn Uthman, from Imam Sadiq (pbuh) that he said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ یُبْغِضُ الْغَنِیَّ الظَّلُومَ وَ الشَّیْخَ الْفَاجِرَ وَ الصُّعْلُوکَ الْمُخْتَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَ تَدْرِی مَا الصُّعْلُوکُ الْمُخْتَالُ قَالَ فَقُلْنَا الْقَلِیلُ الْمَالِ قَالَ لَا هُوَ الَّذِی لَا یَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِشَیْ ءٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ.
Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, hates the oppressive rich person, the wicked old man, and the arrogant destitute person.” Then he said, “Do you know who the arrogant destitute person is?” The narrator said: We replied, “The one with little wealth.” He said, “No, it is the one who does not draw near to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, with anything of his wealth.
