Salawat: A Fresh Start

Hawzah News Agency- The Holy Prophet (pbuh and his family) said:

مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ إِيمَاناً وَاحْتِسَاباً اسْتَأْنَفَ الْعَمَلَ.

Whoever sends blessings (salawat) upon me out of faith and anticipating the reward, begins his deeds anew.

Note: “Begins his deeds anew” means his past sins are forgiven, and he starts with a clean slate.
