First Iranian Hajj pilgrimage caravan gets warm welcome upon arrival in Medina

The first batch, comprising 260 Iranian pilgrims, has entered the holy city of Medina to perform the annual Hajj ritual this year in Saudi Arabia.

Hawzah News Agency- The Iranian pilgrims were warmly welcomed upon their arrival on Monday, in a ceremony attended by officials from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Consul General of Iran in Jeddah, representative of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in Saudi Arabia, and head of the Medina headquarters.

Pilgrims from Golestan Province, who left Imam Khomeini Airport on Monday evening, were accommodated at Medina’s Peninsula Worth Hotel, in a spiritual and joyful atmosphere, before setting off on foot to the Prophet’s Mosque to perform the evening prayers and visit the Prophet’s shrine.

Nasser Hoveyzavi, the representative of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, while hailing officials involved in welcoming Iranian guests with open arms, said they are also ready to provide services to other caravans expected to arrive in days and weeks.

Mohammad Amin Rahmani, the head of the Medina headquarters, also pointed out he hoped to witness an easy, comfortable and dignified Hajj environment for Iranian pilgrims

About 30,000 Iranian pilgrims will attend this year’s Hajj, which is expected to take place between May 25 and May 30, depending on the sighting of the moon.
