Hawzah News Agency- Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Asad al-Asadi narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Amiri who narrated from Ibrahim ibn Isa ibn Ubayd al-Sadusi, who narrated from Sulayman ibn Amr, from Abd Allah ibn Hasan ibn Hasan ibn Ali, from his mother Fatimah bint al-Husayn, from her father (pbuh) that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:
إِنَّ صَلَاحَ أَوَّلِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّهِ بِالزُّهْدِ وَ الْیَقِینِ وَ هَلَاکَ آخِرِهَا بِالشُّحِّ وَ الْأَمَلِ.
Indeed, the rectitude of the first [group] of this Ummah is through asceticism (Zuhd) and certainty (Yaqin), and the ruin of its latter [group] is through stinginess and [long/false] hope.
