The Messenger of Allah’s Affection for Aqil ibn Abi Talib

Hawzah News Agency- Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn al-Hasan ibn Ja’far ibn Ubayd Allah ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (pbuh) narrated from his grandfather Yahya ibn al-Hasan who narrated from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Maqdisi, who narrated from Ali ibn al-Hasan, from Ibrahim ibn Rustam, from Abu Hamzah al-Sakuni, from Jabir ibn Yazid al-Ju’fi, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Sabit, who said:

کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلّی الله علیه و آله یَقُولُ لِعَقِیلٍ إِنِّی لَأُحِبُّکَ یَا عَقِیلُ حُبَّیْنِ حُبّاً لَکَ وَ حُبّاً لِحُبِّ أَبِی طَالِبٍ لَکَ.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) used to say to Aqil: “Indeed, I love you, O 'Aqil, with two loves: a love for you [yourself], and a love because of Abu Talib’s love for you.
