Hawzah News Agency- Baqer Darwish, head of the Bahrain Association for Human Rights, leveled the criticism in a series of social media posts, accusing the regime of exploiting every opportunity to issue accusatory statements, engage in character assassination, and call for harsher penalties against the revolutionary movement in the kingdom.
'Official media echo one voice'
Darwish pointed out that the supportive statements broadcast through state-run Bahrain TV and government-aligned newspapers are nothing more than a repetitive echo of the Supreme Defense Council—a body that acts unilaterally without any consultation with the public.
"These statements do not reflect the genuine position of the Bahraini people," Darwish asserted, emphasizing that true public sentiment is entirely absent from the carefully manufactured media narrative promoted by the authorities.
'Iron fist will not bring stability'
The rights activist warned that security policies reliant on an "iron fist" approach rather than genuine reform will never produce lasting stability. He argued that the only path to true stability lies in the political participation of citizens, not in reliance on foreign military bases designed to serve American and Israeli interests.
Darwish questioned the extent to which ordinary Bahrainis have any say in shaping the country's domestic and foreign policies, noting that a state which resorts to imprisonment for publishing a single tweet or sharing a social media post cannot credibly claim to enjoy popular approval.
'Reports tailored to security room directives'
The head of the Bahrain Association for Human Rights further revealed that international media outlets are fully aware that Manama's involvement in the ongoing war against Iran does not reflect a broad popular consensus. He alleged that certain official reports are drafted according to directives from the "Security Media Room" operating within the Ministry of Interior—a coordinated propaganda apparatus so pervasive that even the Minister of Interior himself does not believe everything aired on Bahrain TV.
Darwish's remarks underscore the deepening rift between the ruling monarchy and the Bahraini population, a divide that has only widened as Manama aligns itself with US and Israeli policies in the region while intensifying its crackdown on domestic dissent. The rights association has repeatedly documented cases of arbitrary detention, torture, and the systematic suppression of freedom of expression across the kingdom.
