Hawzah News Agency- In a message of condolence, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Director of Iran’s seminary, described the late cleric as a forward-thinking jurist and a visionary scholar.
“The scientific endeavor of this great scholar in portraying the dynamic and living face of Shia jurisprudence was a valuable and praiseworthy effort,” Ayatollah Arafi stated, adding that it added a golden page to the record of the late Ayatollah Jannati’s moral virtues.
The senior cleric expressed his sorrow over the loss, extending his condolences to the bereaved family, the late scholar’s students, and his admirers.
Ayatollah Arafi concluded his message by praying for divine mercy and the sublime station of the late jurist during the holy month of Ramadan—a month of divine compassion—and wished patience and a goodly reward for the surviving family members.
Ayatollah Mohammad Ebrahim Jannati Shahrudi was a prominent Iranian cleric and jurist known for his contributions to Shia jurisprudence and his efforts to present Islamic law as a responsive and evolving framework suited to contemporary needs.
