Hawzah News Agency- In a statement released Friday, the religious authority confirmed that Friday completes the 30th and final day of the holy month of Ramadan, making Saturday the first day of Shawwal, corresponding to March 21, 2026.
The announcement from the esteemed Marja’s office aligns with the position of the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Iran's Lunar Crescent Observation Headquarters had earlier confirmed that the crescent moon was not sighted on Thursday evening, establishing Friday as the 30th of Ramadan and Saturday as the first day of Shawwal, also corresponding with the Iranian calendar's Nowruz holiday on 1 Farvardin 1405.
Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection. The day is traditionally observed with communal prayers, acts of charity (Zakat al-Fitr), and gatherings with family and loved ones.
Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating around the world.
