Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al‑Saduq narrated that his father narrated from Sa'd ibn Abd Allah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from al‑Husayn ibn Sa'id, from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Mansur ibn Yunus, from Abu Hamzah al‑Thumali, who said: I heard Imam Sajjad (pbuh) said:
مَا مِنْ خُطْوَهٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ خُطْوَتَیْنِ خُطْوَهٍ یَسُدُّ بِهَا الْمُؤْمِنُ صَفّاً فِی سَبِیلِ اللَّهِ وَ خُطْوَهٍ إِلَی ذِی رَحِمٍ قَاطِعٍ
وَ مَا مِنْ جُرْعَهٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ جُرْعَتَیْنِ جُرْعَهِ غَیْظٍ رَدَّهَا مُؤْمِنٌ بِحِلْمٍ وَ جُرْعَهُ مُصِیبَهٍ رَدَّهَا مُؤْمِنٌ بِصَبْرٍ
وَ مَا مِنْ قَطْرَهٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ قَطْرَتَیْنِ قَطْرَهِ دَمٍ فِی سَبِیلِ اللَّهِ وَ قَطْرَهِ دَمْعَهٍ فِی سَوَادِ اللَّیْلِ لَا یُرِیدُ بِهَا عَبْدٌ إِلَّا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ.
There is no step more beloved to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, than two steps:
1.a step by which the believer fills a rank [for Jihad] in the path of Allah,
2. and a step toward a kinsman who has cut ties.
There is no gulp more beloved to Allah than two gulps:
1. a gulp of anger restrained by a believer through forbearance,
2. and a gulp of suffering endured by a believer with patience.
And there is no drop more beloved to Allah than two drops:
1. a drop of blood shed in the way of Allah,
2. and a drop of tear in the darkness of the night that it is just for the sake of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
