Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al-Saduq narrated that his father narrated from Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad, from Ya’qub ibn Yazid who linked it up to Imam Baqir (pbuh) who said:
الْأَمْرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ النَّهْیُ عَنِ الْمُنْکَرِ خُلُقَانِ مِنْ خُلُقِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَمَنْ نَصَرَهُمَا أَعَزَّهُ اللَّهُ وَ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمَا خَذَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ.
Commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong are two qualities from the character of Allah, the Exalted. Whoever supports them, Allah honors him; and whoever abandons them, Allah abandons him.
