Hawzah News Agency- Speaking on Wednesday at the international conference titled “Martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah: The Key to Resistance and the Genius of Leadership,” held at Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, Hojatoleslam Sheikh Hussein al-Nouri stressed the centrality of resistance in safeguarding Islamic values and standing firm on the path of truth.
Sheikh al-Nouri, a professor at the University of Baghdad and cultural advisor to the Iraqi prime minister, said the steadfast resistance of the Palestinian people and other Muslim nations reflects the perseverance of great figures who have chosen this path and refused to surrender to oppression.
He described martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah as one of the most prominent symbols of contemporary resistance, adding that the success of this struggle depends on the unity and comprehensive resistance of Muslims, particularly political and religious leaders who bear a historic responsibility toward their nations.
The Iraqi academic also highlighted the importance of holding such international conferences, saying they play a vital role in honoring resistance figures and presenting enduring leadership models for the younger generation.
Sheikh al-Nouri said the tradition of resistance against tyranny and injustice dates back to the divine prophets and was inherited from the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his family), Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and other religious leaders. He noted that this tradition reached its most complete historical manifestation in the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
Referring to the sacrifice of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) at Karbala, he said all later resistance movements represent reflections of that monumental stand, as Imam Hussein sacrificed his life, family, and possessions to preserve Islamic principles and religious values.
The cultural advisor to the Iraqi prime minister further said that martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah emerged from the pure lineage of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and a family deeply rooted in faith and resistance, inheriting the legacy of standing against oppression and injustice.
Sheikh al-Nouri added that, beyond honoring resistance figures, such gatherings help keep alive the memory and teachings of Imam Khomeini and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, while familiarizing future generations with the necessity of adhering to the path of truth and Islamic principles in the face of mounting challenges.
He concluded that unity, faith, and steadfast resistance remain the only effective means to confront aggression and ensure the ultimate victory of truth over falsehood.
