Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a ceremony organized by Hezbollah’s Women’s Action Unit, Sheikh Qassem said that demands to disarm the Resistance and “strip it of its strength” are “Israeli-American demands, not Lebanese ones'', adding that such calls amount to the nullification of Lebanon's power.
Stressing that the achievements of the Resistance are measured by its achievements of liberating swaths of Lebanese territory, Hezbollah's leader asserted that the deterrence that the group achieved in the past years was “an exception''.
In this context, Sheikh Qassem said that “deterring aggression” is the function of the Lebanese state and the Lebanese Army, while the role of the Resistance is to support the state and assist in efforts for liberation.
Sheikh Qassem underlined that Hezbollah is ready to engage with authorities and relevant parties in talks for a national defensive strategy, but firmly rejected “any framework of surrender to America and ‘Israel.’”
Hezbollah's leader said that "Israel's" assassination of martyred leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other leaders of the Islamic Resistance aimed to eliminate Hezbollah and eradicate the existence of Resistance.
He stressed that the battle of "People of Might" thwarted this Israeli plot, affirming that if a war on Lebanon takes place, the Israeli regime “will not achieve its objectives''.
Addressing the United States directly, Sheikh Qassem declared, “Let America know, we will defend [ourselves]; even if the sky were to close in upon the earth''.
The Resistance leader added that even under the most cruel circumstances, the Resistance will not relinquish its arms, “even if the whole world were to unite in its war against Lebanon''.
In his speech, Sheikh Qassem outlined four major achievements of the Resistance: liberating occupied land, steadfastly enduring challenges, deterring the Israeli regime from 2006 until 2023, and halting the invasion and uprooting of Lebanese territory.
He also warned that under Israeli domination, there is “no place for Muslims nor for Christians in Lebanon''.
Hezbollah's Secretary-General said that the state is now responsible for consolidating Lebanese sovereignty and independence. He affirmed that Hezbollah has fulfilled its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and continues to support the government in that regard.
Highlighting American-Israeli plans directed against Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem stressed that the Lebanese government must not submit to further concessions.
Concerning America's objectives in the region, Sheikh Qassem said that the US Ambassador Tom Barrack “aims to merge Lebanon with Syria'', which would marginalize minorities in Lebanon and push them to migration.
“I am proud of [every] Resistance-engaged woman, the daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, and all the women who live in our society'', Sheikh Qassem said.
“You are the banners of pride, morality, and patriotism'', he stressed, adding that women will pioneer the upbringing of “future generations''.
“Women must excel in all aspects, especially in raising families and supporting the resistance'', he said.
“You are a partner in shaping the future of our homeland, Lebanon, and the future generations'', he underscored.
“Today we gather on the covenant—the covenant of the resistance, of Hezbollah, and of His Eminence, the Master of the Martyrs of the Nation, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the architect of [path of Resistance], and the illuminator of all its various aspects, grounded in authentic Islamic principles'', he said in reference to the convenant made by the Secretary-General, members, and supporters of the Resistance party during the funeral procession of martyr Sayyed Nasrallah and martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, on February 23, 2025.
He also praised the martyr Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, describing him as “a great figure” in the Resistance's history.
