Hawzah News Agency - Question: Where does tiredness of the body come from? Most of the time I feel sluggish and I do not know how to restore my vigor and energy. Would you please guide me to a solution?
Answer:
Tiredness, lack of energy, and a constant sense of weakness usually come from two sources:
1. Physical causes.
These include insufficient or irregular sleep, anemia, an imbalance of iron in the blood, influenza, and similar conditions. Their treatment must be done by a doctor, and recovery ultimately comes from Allah, the Almighty.
2. Psychological causes.
These include fear of the future, worry, emotional shock from divorce, trauma from car accidents, major financial losses, public humiliation, dwelling on past failures, and having high ambitions while feeling incapable of achieving them. All such psychological pressures can produce physical fatigue and exhaustion. Their cure is to surrender one’s affairs to Allah and accept His decree in matters beyond one’s control.
As for problems caused by a person’s own mistakes, the remedy is sincere repentance and seeking Allah’s forgiveness.
It is also wise to return people’s rights, so the conscience becomes relieved. After that, one should organize their time around religious duties and the natural responsibilities of life.
Let me draw your attention to an important point:
If you want to distinguish whether your fatigue is physical or psychological, observe what happens after you sleep.
-
If your exhaustion disappears or noticeably decreases, then the cause is usually physical.
-
If it continues even after rest, the cause is most likely psychological.
A person who observes himself carefully will recognize whether he is suffering from a physical problem or a psychological one.
