Professors from Austria and Pakistan discuss cultural cooperation with the Imam Hussain Center in Islamabad

The Imam Hussain Cultural Center in Islamabad—an affiliate of the International Media Center under the Media Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine—welcomed an academic delegation comprising professors from both local and international universities. The visit aimed to promote cultural and scientific cooperation while strengthening channels of communication with global academic institutions.

Hawzah News Agency- The center’s director, Dr. Mohammad Askari, stated that the delegation included Professor Dr. Stefan Hammer from Austria, accompanied by Mr. Bilal Khan from the University of Vienna, as well as Professor Dr. Waqas Khan from Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.

Dr. Askari explained that the visit provided an opportunity to introduce the center’s mission and objectives. The delegation received a detailed presentation on the center’s cultural and educational activities, along with an overview of projects sponsored by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in Pakistan—particularly those aimed at fostering religious coexistence, academic collaboration, and cultural dialogue among diverse communities.

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the center’s efforts, highlighting its important role in promoting mutual understanding, social harmony, and constructive engagement between academic and religious institutions.

At the conclusion of the visit, the center presented Professor Dr. Stefan Hammer with a copy of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s official guide in recognition of his academic contributions and in appreciation of his visit.

It is worth noting that the newly established Imam Hussain Cultural Center continues to strengthen ties between the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and the Pakistani public through outreach to media and cultural institutions, hosting prominent figures, and organizing monthly events that highlight the shrine’s humanitarian and cultural mission.
