Alavi Holy Shrine welcomes Iranian delegation ahead of International Congress of Allama Mirza Naeini

Within the framework of expanding cultural and scholarly cooperation between Iran and Iraq, the Holy Alavi Shrine has officially welcomed the Iranian delegation participating in the upcoming International Congress of Allama Mirza Naeini, scheduled to convene in the sacred cities of Najaf and Karbala in the coming days.

Hawzah News Agency- On Wednesday, on the eve of the second International Congress of Allama Mirza Naeini, the Holy Alavi Shrine hosted a distinguished scientific and cultural delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Seyyed Isa Khorsan, director of the Holy Alavi Shrine, accompanied by members of the Board of Trustees, senior officials of the Alavi Research and Studies Forum, and representatives from various administrative and service departments, received the guests in an official welcoming ceremony.

The congress—jointly organized by the Holy Alavi and Husseini Shrines in partnership with the Management of Qom Seminaries—marks a significant new chapter in scholarly collaboration and seminary exchange between Iran and Iraq.

Among the prominent figures participating in the event is Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, director of Iran’s seminaries, who has traveled to Iraq to join the high-level gathering, regarded as one of the most important scientific events centered on the intellectual legacy of Allama Mirza Naeini.

The first stage of the International Congress was held on November 1, 2025, in the holy city of Qom. The session featured a message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as well as a keynote address delivered by Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, with the attendance of scholars, professors, and students at the Imam Kazim (PBUH) Seminary.

The program then continued on November 3, 2025, in the holy city of Mashhad, drawing a broad array of academic and seminary participants.

The final sessions of the congress are set to take place on November 6 and November 8, 2025, in Najaf al-Ashraf and Karbala, respectively—bringing together leading seminary figures, researchers, and intellectuals from across the region to honor the profound jurisprudential and political thought of Allama Mirza Naeini.
