Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the opening of Tuesday’s session of Iran’s Supreme Supervisory Board of the Expediency Discernment Council, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani offered condolences on the martyrdom anniversaries of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Siddiqah al-Kubra (PBUH).
Referring to the recent martyrdom of senior Hezbollah commander Haitham Ali Tabatabai and his companions, he described the loss of such figures as a heavy blow for Hezbollah and the broader Resistance Front.
“The Zionist regime imagines that by intensifying pressure and carrying out assassinations, it can force Hezbollah and the Resistance Front to retreat,” he said. “But this is a major illusion. Today, nations across both East and West have risen against the Zionist regime and openly voice their rejection of it.”
He pointed to the election of a Muslim, Shiite mayor in the largest and most strategic city in the United States—an individual who has publicly voiced opposition to the Zionist regime—as a sign of shifting global attitudes.
“In a country that is the primary supporter of the Zionist regime, this development reflects the growing opposition of popular movements to Washington’s policies,” he noted.
Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said that widespread expressions of solidarity with Palestine from “free people around the world, especially in the West and the United States,” demonstrate the growing strength and moral victory of the Resistance Front.
“While the people of Gaza and the Resistance forces in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen have paid a high price in the recent war, their achievements in mobilizing a global movement against the Zionist regime are beyond what the United States and the regime could have imagined,” he stated.
He emphasized that the targeted killings of Resistance commanders in Lebanon, Yemen, and Gaza do not represent any strategic success for the Israeli regime.
“Today, the Zionist entity stands discredited in the eyes of the world as a regime that has committed war crimes and genocide. Free nations have united in rejecting this hateful regime,” he said.
Reiterating that the surrender of the Resistance Front “will never happen,” Ayatollah Amoli Larijani expressed hope that the frontline forces, strengthened by the presence of youth and the continuation of the path of their martyred commanders, will ultimately achieve victory.
At the conclusion of the session, he congratulated the nation on the occasion of Basij Week, expressing hope that the spirit of Basij—as emphasized by Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution—will continue to flourish, guiding the country toward further progress and development.
