Hawzah News Agency- Opening the assembly session, Ayatollah Larijani condemned the repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire, noting that the Zionist regime has martyred thousands of Muslims and faithful civilians while destroying schools, hospitals, and homes. He described Trump’s visit to the region as a “propaganda show,” aimed at presenting a façade of peace while violence continues.
He also criticized the international system for its silence on the suffering of over 60,000 Palestinians, including women and children, and highlighted the use of starvation and attacks on infrastructure as tools of oppression. According to Ayatollah Larijani, the global support for these crimes exposes the West’s human rights rhetoric as mere lip service.
The Iranian official further condemned the persecution of academics and protesters in the US and Europe who support Palestine, calling it a “clear reversal of human values.” He contrasted this with Western inaction toward insults against the Prophet Muhammad and the Holy Quran.
On a broader scale, Ayatollah Larijani criticized US interference in Latin America, stating that America uses force to install governments that serve its economic interests, exploiting national resources of independent countries. He concluded that free nations have realized that security and independence cannot rely on arrogant powers but require unity and self-reliance.
