Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the International Conference on Ethical Life in Islam and Christianity in Qom, Dr. Yousef Mahmoud Al-Siddiq expressed condolences for the crimes committed in Gaza and emphasized that monotheism, morality, and justice are shared values among the Abrahamic faiths.
He said Christian teachings are rooted in universal brotherhood, unlike the Zionist ideology derived from the notion of a “chosen people,” which promotes racial superiority and discrimination. “Some Jews themselves oppose Zionism and reject its abuse of religion for political gain,” he noted.
Al-Siddiq warned that despite scientific and material progress, humanity remains trapped in ignorance due to its detachment from ethical and divine teachings. He called for renewed emphasis on moral education and interfaith dialogue to resolve global crises.
Highlighting growing protests in Western countries against the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza, the scholar said such movements reflect the moral conscience inherent in humanity. He urged religious and intellectual leaders to work collectively to confront injustice and promote peace based on shared ethical principles.
