Demonstrations in New York and New Zealand demand an end to the massacres in Gaza

New York City witnessed a massive demonstration demanding a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel.

Hawzah News Agency- According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), reported by Dearborn News, Participants expressed their anger at the continued US military support for Israel, asserting that "this support contributes to the commission of crimes against humanity'', and demanded its immediate cessation.

Auckland, New Zealand, also witnessed a massive popular march in solidarity with the Palestinian people, a movement described as the largest of its kind in the country since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

According to the Aotearoa for Palestine group, the number of participants reached approximately 50,000, while police estimated the number at around 20,000. The demonstrators raised Palestinian flags and banners denouncing the aggression and demanding an end to the genocide, including prominent slogans such as "No normalization of genocide''.

The group's spokesperson, Aram Rata, emphasized that the march embodies the growing public awareness in New Zealand regarding the massacres being perpetrated against civilians in Gaza, calling on the New Zealand government to take a firm stance and impose sanctions on Israel.

This comes at a time when New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon described the Israeli actions in Gaza as “absolutely horrific'', amid an escalating internal debate over the possibility of formally recognizing the state of Palestine.
