Stop the political theater over the call to prayer- solve the Netherlands' real crises

A spokesperson of Ulu Mosque in Utrecht says: Don't sacrifice religious freedom for political games.

Hawzah News Agency - According to NL Times, spokesperson of Ulu Mosque in Utrecht strongly condemned a proposed bill by the conservative Christian (SGP) and far-right (JA21) parties to ban on broadcasting the call to prayer. these parties claim that the Islamic call to prayer cause social unrest.

In response, a spokesperson of Ulu Mosque stated: ''This proposal is not a solution to societal issues but a calculated move aimed at fueling cultural divisions and political polarization.''

He stated in an interview with Hart van Nederland: ''Religious freedom must not be turned into a plaything for political gains''.

Representative of the Islamic Center emphasized that the call to prayer lasts only a few seconds and is barely audible in most urban areas, nothing, ''there are already strict noise regulations in place governing the Adhan''.

The Islamic center urged politicians to focus on ''critical issues'' such ac the housing crisis and shortage of qualified professionals in healthcare and education sectors, rather than concerning themselves with the call to prayer which is barely audible.
