Hawzah News Agency- Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli had a meeting with the head of Late Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation in Qom on Wednesday, February 15 during which he stated,” We appreciate your efforts and services of the officials and we pray for those who serve faithfully to help the poor; however, our expectation is to gain the intellectual strength that we should not only help the poor but we should also eradicate poverty and this is an act of Jihad.”

Top cleric further said,” There are two types of poverty, economic and natural poverty; Natural poverty cannot be prevented, being a child, getting old, getting sick, and the poverty that comes from these things is not a shame; But economic poverty is a shame, and therefore we must move in the direction to eradicate poverty altogether.”

This Shia source of emulation added,” Preserving the honor and dignity of believers is an Islamic duty; therefore production and employment must be provided for everyone so that they can support their family with dignity and honor and to live with dignity.”
