Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of Iran’s Seminary received Dragan Todorović, Ambassador of Serbia to the Islamic Republic of Iran at the office of the director of Islamic seminaries in Qom on Monday, August 15 during which he appreciated the support and activities of the ambassador and his delegation in approximating the rich culture of Iran and Serbia.

Ayatollah Arafi noted,” the range of cooperation between Iran and Serbia demonstrates the effective and unique role of the ambassadors.”

While pointing to the capacity of the holy city of Qom, Ayatollah Arafi noted the presence of various intellectual and philosophical religious schools in Iran and stated,” The philosophical basis of the city of Qom have deep foundations.”

The head of Iran’s seminary pointed out the importance of connecting the intellectual and philosophical reserves of Qom with the universities of the world, especially in Serbia, and added,” In addition to fundamental and philosophical topics, we should also pay special attention to the intellectual and social sciences. Because the foundation of humanities and social sciences regardless of the divine thought, has caused the world's religious movements to grow closer to each other.”

He further pointed to the constructive role of Serbia in the Balkan region and listed the field of tourism and historical issues as mutual capacities in order to expand bilateral ties and added, “Introducing historical issues and tourism development can be emphasized from a religious-cultural perspective.”

In the final part of his speech, Ayatollah Arafi drew attention to the role of academic relations in promoting international relations and concluded,” Boosting Academic interactions between the two nations of Iran and Serbia can play a significant role in strengthening cooperation in various fields.”
