Hawzah News Agency- Joyful ceremonies of this special occasion started by recitation of Aminollah supplication at Imam Khomeini portico of Imam Reza shrine on Thursday night. Famous religious lecturers were keynote speakers of the night and day of the occasion and joyful recitations and poem-reading were performed by salient Iranian panegyrists.
The ceremonies were also featured with various sermons, eulogies, declamation, etc. for thousands of arriving foreign pilgrims. The ceremonies of foreign pilgrims were held in Arabic, Urdu, and Azeri languages.
Imam Hadi’s (AS) birth anniversary falls on July 15 this year. However, the ceremony will proceed into the following day, July 16, comprising recitation of prayers and lessons of the Holy Quran.
It is worth mentioning that IRIB, Razavi TV and social networks of the holy shrine covered all ceremonies and programs of the night and day of birth anniversary.
Imam Hadi (AS) succeeded his father, Imam Javad (AS). He is also known with the title of al-Naqi. Around 848 AH, the Abbasid caliph, Mutawakkil who was known for his extreme anti-Shia measures summoned Imam Hadi (AS) to the capital Samarra where he was held under close surveillance until his martyrdom some twenty years later in 868 AH.
