Hawzah News Agency- Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi made some remarks at the National Conference on ‘Training in the Armed Forces’ held at the Shahid Mahallati University in Qom on Sunday, June 26 during which he said that Islamic philosophy, jurisprudence and ethics can each be studied as the foundation of defending Islam based on religious sources; “The armed forces must study these three areas and extract the issues related to them.” He added.
Senior Shia scholar further added, "With respect to Islamic ethics and the moral system of training in the field of defense and war from an Islamic perspective, we need more extensive studies and the armed forces of the Islamic Revolution must address this issue."
Ayatollah Arafi stressed the need for the armed forces to have a correct understanding of the West and Western civilization and noted, "There have been achievements in Western civilization in terms of human material life, but we do believe that there are intellectual deviations in the Western system of thought regarding the future."
“It is natural that today we are witnessing a very complex all-out war against the Islamic Revolution of Iran, because such war is rooted in our different views of history, the world as well as humanity.” He added.
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi also recalled his recent meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican and concluded, "I presented ten challenges in the contemporary world with Pope Francis and pointed out the sources of ongoing hassles in the Western world today."
