Hawzah News Agency –In a message, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, expressed his condolences on the demise of Grand Ayatollah Golpayegani, Shiite Source of Emulation.
In his message, referring to the services of Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly noted, “The list of religious, scientific, and social services of the late Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani, like his blessed life, is long and very brilliant, and they cannot be counted in one message.”

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
With the demise of the divine scholar, the jurists of the infallible and pure AhlulBayt, the Sheikh of the jurists and the Marjas, the Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani, an extremely irreparable damage inflicted on the body of the Islamic society.
Today, Fiqh, Osul, hadith, theology, history, poetry, literature and Shiite Hekmat, lost one of their great pillars, and seminaries suffered the loss of a nobleman who spent more than eight decades of his honorable life in the way of teaching, learning and self-purification.
The list of religious, scientific, and social services of the late Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani, like his blessed life, is long and very brilliant and it cannot be counted in one message.
Creating many works in various scientific disciplines, struggles during the Shah’s reign, confrontation against deviant sects, construction and reconstruction of important religious sites, helping the poor and oppressed in various cities of Iran, Supporting the Islamic Resistance, and defending the oppressed Shiites in different parts of the world, consolation and encouragement of researchers and theological activists and announcing his position and stance on various social and political events, are just a part the blessed deceased’s services.
Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani also wore the Medal of Honor of Imam Khomeini’s trust in his appointment as a member of the Guardian Council of Jurists and its secretary. As the martyr-nurturing people of Markazi province elected him as their representative to draft the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and as one of the pillars of science, ijtihad, and jihad, he became a member of the first term of Assembly of the Experts.
The moral virtues of that great man are also a brilliant chapter of his blessed life, which can be a practical model for clergy and scholars of the seminary for many years, especially his sincere love for the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and his incredible, admirable, and exemplary modesty.
During my tenure as the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in which I had the opportunity to be in the presence of this insightful Marja to present reports, he appreciated with great interest the activities of the Assembly in publishing the works related to the AhlulBayt (a.s.). Encouraging the holding of the International Conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (AS), and then following up on it, was an example of his attention to the activities of the Assembly.
On the irreparable loss of this kind scholar, I offer my condolences to the main mourner, Imam Mahdi (a.s.), as well as to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the grand Marjas, seminaries, world Muslims and Shiites, his students, imitators, and devotees, and Golpaygani family and his children, especially Hojat al-Islam Haj Sheikh Hassan Safi, and his son-in-law Ayatollah Karimi Jahromi.
I ask God Almighty for the exaltation of the deceased jurist and his reunion with holy saints (a.s.), and I ask for patience for all the relatives and family members.
