Iran FM lauds interaction with leaders of religious minorities

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian referred to interaction with religious leaders and representatives of minorities in the Iranian Parliament as one of the programs on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs agenda.

Hawzah News Agency –Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with leaders of monotheistic religions and representatives of religious minorities in the Iranian Parliament.

He congratulated the New Year and termed the coexistence of monotheistic religions throughout history in the geography of Iran as a unique example and model of inclusive Iranian culture and an integral part of the Iranians’ identity.

Referring to the important regulations in Iran with regard to supporting the divine religions and the dignity and rights of their followers, he emphasized the great capacity of religious minorities inside and outside the country.

Facilitating the movement of Iranians abroad to their homeland is one of the priorities of the 13th government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in this regard, he emphasized on the mental interactions of all Iranian expatriates with their homeland, regardless of their religion.

Amir Abdollahian referred to interaction with religious leaders and representatives of minorities in the Iranian Parliament as one of the programs on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs agenda and called on the representatives of different religions to assist the Foreign Ministry in carrying out the duties and missions as regard defending the interests of Iran and its great nation.

Meanwhile, the participating religious leaders emphasized the Iranian identity of the followers of all monotheistic religions in Iran and described love of homeland, national interests, history and culture as commonality among all Iranians.

They also supported the government's interactive approach in various dimensions, and praised the government's prudent and respectful policies in the Vienna talks.
