Hawzah News Agency – The documentary titled " Children of Khoonyar" made by Arman Gholipour Dashtaki, a young Iranian director, won the special diploma award from the Student Juries at the 41st International Film Festival of the Russian Film University.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), at the closing ceremony of the festival, at Moscow State Film University which was attended by Iran’s Cultural Attaché in the Russian Federation, Masoud Ahmadvand, the film " Children of Khoonyar" was announced as the winner by the juries and Arman Gholipour Dashtaki received his award. The Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, thanked the organizers of the festival and Malishev, the Chancellor of the Russian Film University.
In addition to the film " Children of Khoonyar", two short films "Look" made by Farnoush Samadi and "Aparat" by Hasan Najmabadi also competed in the said festival.
At the 41st International Film Festival of the Russian Film University, 86 films from 48 countries competed, and for the first time, filmmakers from nine African countries joined the festival. Participants in this year’s festival were selected from Iran, Nigeria, Canada, Russia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, India and Germany.
The festival coincides with the 122nd anniversary of the founding of the Russian Film University, named after the famous Russian director Grasimov. It is the oldest film school in the world.
