Oslo police: We don’t know who sent hateful anti-Muslim SMS messages last week

The case is still being investigated, according to section 185 of the Criminal Code on hate speech, the police wrote on Twitter on Friday.

Hawzah News Agency - The investigation so far has shown that text messages from last week that described Muslims as violent were not from the organization SIAN (Stop the Islamization of Norway), Oslo police announced.

The case is still being investigated, according to section 185 of the Criminal Code on hate speech, the police wrote on Twitter on Friday.

“We can not go into detail in this case at the moment, but consider it important to disseminate this information in advance of upcoming demonstrations,” the press release stated.

SIAN has plans to hold demonstrations in Bærum on Saturday. A counter-demonstration has also been scheduled.

Last week, a mass SMS campaign was sent out describing Muslims as violent. The sender appeared to be SIAN. The SMS was sent out to many people after the SIAN demonstration and the subsequent riots in Drammen on April 10.
