Hawzah News Agency - The participating persons were Mansoureh Karami, wife of martyr Ali Mohammadi; Behjat Qassemi, wife of martyr Shahriari; Ommolbanin Hosseini, wife of martyr Tavassoli known as Abu Hamed, the commander of Liwa Fatemiyoun; Parisima Hosseinzadeh sister of martyr Hamid Hosseinzadeh; Fatima Hamdan, the cultural director of the Lebanese Hezbollah sisters’ Basij in Lebanese universities; and Marzieh Hashemi, presenter and expert of the Iranian Press TV network. It was held in the portico of Dar al-Marhama of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran.
In this roundtable and a webinar that was aired on Ofogh TV, Ommolbanin Hosseini referred to the manners and character of martyrs in the family, stating that “Martyrs live like other human beings. They had their daily lives, and they loved their families, but they sacrificed their lives for Islam and the rights of Muslims.”
“What drew the martyrs to Syria was the concern to defend the holy shrines. We Muslims have always wished we were there in the time of Imam Hussein (AS) to fight Yazid and his men alongside the Imam. The martyrs understood that Syria is Karbala. Hence, they took part in the battle against ISIS and created an epic,” she said.
Hosseini referred to the character of martyr Tavassoli by saying that he was very quiet and did not talk much about the war, but in short conversations, he repeatedly stated that this front of resistance is not over, and the spirit of resistance among nations is being revived.
Tavassoli was martyred on February 28, 2015, during the liberation of the important and strategic hill of Tal Qarin in the suburbs of Deraa in Syria, and near the Golan Heights, in a battle with Jabhat al-Nusra.
Parisima Hosseinzadeh, also recounted that martyr Hosseinzadeh left for Syria at the age of twenty-three and achieved martyrdom at the age of twenty-seven.
“His on-time prayer and humbleness were famous among all his friends and acquaintances, and with each trip to Syria, changes in his behavior and face were evident. In general, sincerity, patience and respect for parents were prominent traits of his personality,” she noted.
Hosseinzadeh added that it is very difficult to shun the worldly belongings, yet martyr Hosseinzadeh chose the path of jihad in his youth, and just as he longed for martyrdom as a child, he achieved his goal.
“He was martyred on November 23, 2017 in the Bokmal operational area, located ten kilometers from the border between Iraq and Iran,” she remarked.
Martyr Hosseinzadeh’s sister also pointed to the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, adding, “With the martyrdom of this great general, all the people of Iran felt that they lost their father. Martyrdom was a long-standing dream of martyr Soleimani and he achieved his dream after years of struggle and self-sacrifice.”
