Palestinian PM “International Donors’ Support is Vital”

Shtayyeh’s remarks came during a video conference conversation with the European Union’s (EU) representative for peace in the Middle East, Susanna Terstal, when the Palestinian PM briefed the her on latest developments, across the occupied Palestinian territories.

Hawzah News Agency (Occupied Palestine) - Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh reiterated, on Thursday, that international donors’ support to the Palestinian people, in the context of the Israeli regime plans to annex the occupied West Bank, along with current Israeli-imposed restrictions on the Palestinian people, is now vital.

Shtayyeh’s remarks came during a video conference conversation with the European Union’s (EU) representative for peace in the Middle East, Susanna Terstal, when the Palestinian PM briefed the her on latest developments, across the occupied Palestinian territories.

Shtayyeh noted that by announcing a plan to annex the West Bank, Israel has breached all signed agreements with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), as well as all other international conventions including United Nations’ resolutions pertaining to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

He emphasized that the Palestinian leadership, headed by President, Mahmoud Abbas, has responded to those Israeli plans, “by simply unilaterally detaching itself from previously-signed agreements, which Israel has clearly violated”.

The two high-ranking officials also discussed a potential agenda for an upcoming donor countries’ conference, including possible support of Palestinian institutions and the Palestinian people, especially since Washington ceased all forms of support for Palestinians and utterly backed the occupation state of Israel.

Israeli leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu have recently confirmed that Israel will go ahead with its annexation plans of the occupied West Bank, despite rejection by many parties, around the world, including European Union, which is a main donor for the Palestinian people, based on Oslo Peace Accords of 1993 that were sponsored by Washington.
