Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a senior Shia cleric, made some remarks regarding the significant progress of Iran’s seminaries in the recent years.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - During his Kharij-e-Fiqh course in Qom's Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a senior Shia cleric, made some remarks regarding the significant progress of Iran’s seminaries in the recent years.

Ayatollah Makarem mentioned holding contests for writing juridical Risalah in the past 10 years and said, “Every year we have more clerics attending these contests and they write better Risalahs every time. But there was not such a program in the past.”

His Eminence said, “Today there are over 30 juridical schools in the seminary that their job is discovering bright talents and training Mujtahids.”

The Shia cleric called notable incensement in the number of books published by seminaries another reason that shows progress in seminaries.

Ayatollah Makarem also referred to the new wave of scholars’ attention to the modern issues as well as clearing religious doubts and called it one of the strong points of the seminaries in the recent years.
