Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Addressing a group of journalists after his Quran interpretation course in Qom on Thursday, Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, a senior Shia scholar asserted, “late Imam Khomeini (ra) appointed the last Friday of Ramadan as the international Quds Day.”

“On this Day, all Muslims must join their hands and invite the whole world to help return Occupied Palestine to Islam.”

Pointing out the historic mistakes regarding the issue of Palestine, Grand Ayatollah Sobhani added, “the first mistake which was made regarding the issue of Palestine was that some people introduced the issue of Palestine as an Arabic one and not an Islamic concern, but late Imam Khomeini (ra), the founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, believed that the Palestinian issue must be regarded as a major concern in the whole Islamic world.”

“The issue of Palestine is common among Arab and non-Arab nations; Quds as the first Kiblah in Islam must be freed and this can happen as a result of a global Muslim movement.”

 “We believe that, by Allah’s grace, Palestine will return to the Muslims.” Ayatollah Sobhani concluded.
