Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In an interview with Hawzah News, Ayatollah Hassan Mamdouhi, an Iranian senior cleric, spoke on the recently-held conference to support Palestinian Intifada in Tehran, Iran saying, "Muslim countries shall not stop their support for Palestine; they must stay alert in the face of enemies’ plots and conspiracies who do not want the issue of Palestine be regarded as the main concern of the Islamic world."

 Ayatollah Mamdouhi further referred to Israel as a Carcinoid tumor in the region and added,"The Islamic Republic as well as Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, have long emphasized the Palestinians’ legitimate right to decide their own destiny through democratic solutions, but sadly, the western countries, who claim to be in favor of human rights and democracy, deny Palestinians’ rights and continue their illegitimate support of Israeli regime," Hawzah reported.

The seminary lecturer concluded, "We strongly believe that democratic solutions must be pursued to resolve the issue of Palestine, otherwise the only remaining option for Palestinians is resistance against the Zionist regime and their western allies."
