Hawzah News Agency (Birjand, Iran) – Hujjat al-Islam Muhammadreza Khoshroo, Deputy of International relations at the World Congress against Takfiri movements, had an interview with Hawzah News in which he announced that the holding of the 14th convention of Islamic Scholars' Convergence against Takfir threats this February in the Iranian province of Southern Khorasan.
He said, "In 2013, the secretariat of the conference to fight Takfiri threats was established under the supervision of senior Shia scholars, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani."
Hujjat al-Islam Khoshroo went on," During this round of the conference, due to be held this February, different educational workshops are going to be offered to Shia and Sunni clerics."
Speaking on the objectives of organizing such national and international conferences to fight Takfirism and their radical threats, Khoshroo pointed out, "We hold such conventions aiming to unite Muslim scholars to condemn Takfiri movements and their atrocities, to raise public awareness concerning the issues related to extremism and to counter Islamophobia, etc."
