  Clerics take part in Scientific Competition held in Qom, Iran

The 5th round of a scientific competition for seminary students in advanced courses was held in Qom, Iran in which more than 1000 clerics took part. "Those competitors who make it through to the final round, will be required to answer questions on Islamic jurisprudence and rational sciences."

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In the sidelines of Iranian Seminaries' 5th scientific competition which was held in Qom, Iran on Friday, January ۲۷, ۲۰۱۷, head of Qom Seminary, remarked, "This year, as many as 1100 clerics from the Qom Seminary took part in the event. "

 

Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Farrokhfal added, "After this round of the competition which is held in all Iranian provinces, the final round will take place in August this year under the supervision of the Seminaries' central management office."

 

"Those competitors who make it through to the final round, will be required to answer questions on Islamic jurisprudence and rational sciences," the cleric said.

 

Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Ali Nazari, supervisor of the Seminaries' exam center, also spoke with Hawzah News correspondent during the event saying," The purpose of organizing this scientific competition is to recognize talented students, create a healthy competitive atmosphere, raising the scientific knowledge base of students and to encourage the clerics to progress in their studies."
