Muslim clerics in Cameroon pray for peace

The Council of Imams and Muslim dignitaries of Cameroon prayed for peace and harmony to prevail in the country in 2017. "The solution to the recent crisis in the two English speaking regions of the country is only through an honest dialogue between the government and the protesting groups."

Hawzah News Agency (Yaoundé, Cameroon) -The Council of Imams and Muslim dignitaries of Cameroon (CIDIMUC) has committed the nation into the hands of Allah for peace and harmony to prevail in the country in 2017. The motion was made as they begin their traditional prayer for the new year on Monday the 2nd of January 2017 in Yaounde.

 

Muslims clerics from the ten regions made supplications for a quick resolution to the issues raised by Common Law Lawyers and Anglophone Teachers’ Trade Unions.

 

According the Imam of Buea, Alhadji Mohammed Abubakar, the solution to the recent crisis in the two English speaking regions of the country is only through an honest dialogue between the government and the protesting groups. Imam Tuku Mohammed from Bamenda added his voice to emphasize on the need for peace in order for the disgruntled to get off the streets.

 

The supplications were not only centered within the English speaking regions but peace nationwide at a time when the country is faced with other security challenges. The Council of Imams and Muslim dignitaries in Cameroon is coordinated by Moussa Oumarou.
