Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi received a delegation of Lebanese Muslim scholars in his house in the Iranian city of Qom on Sunday, December 18.

During the meeting he congratulated the Lebanese scholars on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (sawa) and Imam al-Sadiq (as); he said, “These days Muslim soldiers are achieving great victories against terrorists in the battlefields in Syria, Lebanon as well as in Iraq, I believe all these victories result from Islamic unity. Lebanon’s victory was a truly amazing achievement that put the Zionist Regime in a weak position. Also In another front, the Islamic Resistance of Syria recently regained control over the city of Aleppo.”

Grand Ayatollah Makarem added, “Takfirism poses a major threat to the whole world; it’s impossible to fully defeat Takfiris unless we attempt to uproot their very fundamental ideology and doctrine. We need to fight Takfirism intellectually in addition to military confrontations.”

The Shia source of emulation went on, “Sending delegations of Sunni scholars to different Islamic countries could help develop Islamic unity; it’s essential to strengthen our cooperation and increase the interactions between Iranian and Lebanese scholars; in fact, Muslim scholars from both countries must hold more meetings in order to strengthen their unity and solidarity.”

“If the interactions among scholars are increased, then the enemies’ lies and plots against Iran will be neutralized, this is something that could help boost unity between the two countries. In the end, I pray for your nation’s prosperity and ultimate victory over the enemies.”
