Chapter 28: God is Enough

God says about the believers: “they have been told people have gathered against you, but it only increased their faith and they said: God is enough for us”.

Hawzah News Agency-The Qur’an is the principle source of every Muslim’s faith and practice, but its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures and provides guidelines for a just society, proper human conduct and equitable economic principles. For next 100 days we are presenting some short articles on ethical issues that have been written based on the verses of Qur’an.

Sometimes in life, you have to play in pain. In other words, you have to keep going even when you do not feel like it. You have to keep pressing forward even when it is not easy. Every voice will tell you, “You are done. There is nothing good in your future.” No, do not believe those lies. God sees your effort. It is one thing to do the right thing and make good decisions when everything is going your way. That is great. God honors that. But when times are tough and nothing is going your way, when you are hurting, when you should be on the sidelines nursing your wound but instead you are still in the game; you are still getting to work on time; you are still being good to someone, you are still expecting God to turn it around, that gets God’s attention in a new way. God says about the believers: “the people said to them: The people have gathered against you, so be fearful of them, but it only increased their faith and they said: God is enough for us, and He is the best to put our trust in”. (Qur’an; 3:173)

As Qur’an says, God has a greater reward for people who are faithful in the tough times. If that is you today, know that God has His hand on you. He is walking with you through the valley. He is preparing streams in the dessert. He is leading and guiding you in paths of righteousness for His name sake. Keep praising. Keep believing. Keep moving forward knowing that God is with you, and “Anyone who puts his trust in God, then He suffices him”. (Qur’an; 65:3)
